McDowell Battlefield Heritage Days 2007
Public Schedule of Events

Horse-drawn wagon tours through McDowell - to the Confederate and Federal Campsites - leave regularly from the parking lot behind the McDowell Presbyterian Church, and from the Sugar Tree Country Store. Fee: $2.00 per person - allows unlimited rides - all day.

Be sure to see the Living History presentations occurring all day at the McDowell Presbyterian Church, at the George Washington Hull house, and throughout the village of McDowell - both Saturday and Sunday.

SATURDAY - MAY 5

8:00 a.m. -10:00 a.m

Battle Formation & Dress Parade of Troops followed by Battalion Drill

9:00 a.m.

Event opens to the public

5:30 p.m.

Reenactment closed to general public.

SUNDAY - MAY 6
 

 9:00 a.m.

Event opens to the public

10:00 a.m.

Period (1862) Church Service
at the historic McDowell Presbyterian Church ALL VISITORS WELCOME!!

12:00 p.m

Scheduled activities end - EVENT CLOSES

 Throughout the day, both days:

-- Exhibition and sale of traditional handicrafts

-- Continuous scenarios and first-person presentations throughout town both Saturday and Sunday

-- Civilian docent / interpreters available (look for the orange ribbons!) to explain events in third person

-- Refreshments will be available to purchase at the church

-- Horse-drawn wagon tours
